Who is Mademoiselle Jules?
Let me introduce you to my dear friend and Lifestyle Blogger Julie Etienne. Julie is first and foremost a mother of three amazing kids and wife to a loving man with a very busy schedule. She understands what it means to be a mom and the need to find an escape (once in a while) from the world of Lululemon, carpools and lunches on-the-go, to the world of high fashion, exotic, travel and fine dinning.
That being said, her objective as a Fashion, Beauty & Lifestyle Blogger is to appeal to and be representative of the life of a young modern woman with a family with (admittedly) a penchant for the finer things in life – so expect a bit of both!

As a mom and full time fashion blogger, always on-the-go, what is your go-to meal when you’re in a rush?
The Global Glow smoothie is my go-to when I’m in a rush and need something healthy. It’s filling and guilt free!
I love using the Nourishing Protein and the Super Elixir to give my smoothies a boost. The protein is vegan, tastes amazing, and is super satiating. It balances blood-sugar levels and keeps me full until my next meal. The Super Elixir gives me an alkaline boost and helps me get a big dose of greens in when I don’t have them at hand. I also love it’s gentle detoxifying properties.
What is the best health advice you have been given?
Well… I actually have more than one! Firstly, it took me a while to realize and to not underestimate the importance of sleep – I definitely try to sleep for 8 hours a night now and it has made such a big difference in every aspect of my life.
I also learned quite a bit during consultations with Julie Katerine, Certified Integrative Nutrition Health Coach. After giving birth to my third child, I was feeling low energy and had, as you can imagine, a couple of pounds to loose. Since following her advice, I’ve never felt better!
I now start every morning with a big warm glass of lemon water, followed by the Super Elixir on an empty stomach. This detoxes by body gently, and makes me feel fresh to start the day. Julie Katerine also put a lot of emphasis on eating balanced meals. I try to always combine a lean protein, healthy fat, and good fibre (think GREENS or complex carbs).
This combination has been working wonders for me. It has helped balanced my hormones, my appetite, my weight, and improved my digestion. In addition, including healthy fats (such as avocado, nuts, seeds, organic salmon, and olive oil) to my diet has really made a difference in my mood and mental clarity.
What’s one daily health ritual that sets you up for a successful day?
I like to start my day with some breathing exercises. If I can take 10 minutes when I wake up to just relax and breathe, it really helps me have a clear mindset for the day. If I have time, I love doing some sun salutations and stretching.
How do you choose your outfits on the daily?
Honestly, I choose my outfits randomly! According to my mood, the weather or whatever I am feeling that day. I’m totally someone who is inspired in the moment, and when I have an idea, I take it and run with it. I don’t plan my outfits too much, usually spontaneity makes a great look!
As summer is approaching, what are your must haves for the season?
I recently did an IGTV post on my spring and summer essentials – it covers some pieces I’m loving for the heat (link here). I am so looking forward to the warm summer months, some staples I can’t go without are: a flowy dress, a nice white blazer, some cute sandals and a big tote for all your summer needs! I also cannot leave the house without my sunscreen – here are some of my faves!
How do you balance your career and social/family life?
Well that’s the struggle, isn’t it?! I do my best but the secret for me is a good support system. I learned you need a team who supports you and has your back, you can’t do it all yourself all the time. I recently hired an assistant who is helping me tremendously. Delegating is also a great way to find balance, it serves efficiency, saves time, and relieves stress.
What would people be surprised to know about you?
Probably that I barely sleep! I set an alarm to remind myself to get to bed around 10 pm nightly, but most of the time I end up working almost all night. I’m doing my best to improve at this, because like I said – 8 hours of sleep a night is key.
Another surprise about me is probably my height. When people meet me in person, they’re always shocked to see how small I really am – 5″3.
