What makes a food super anyway?
Well… Superfoods or VIF’s (very important foods) are powerful, restorative, energizing and are simply loaded with goodness!
We all know of some of these superstar foods like kale, spinach, avocados, organic salmon, lemons etc.…But here are my top 7 superfoods whose stars are on the rise…
1. Goji berries
Pure goodness. Goji berries were originally used in Traditional Chinese Medicine to help longevity and build strength. They contain 18 kinds of amino acids (including 8 essential amino acids), approximately 21 minerals, crazy high amounts of antioxidants, iron, polysaccharides, vitamins B & E and the list goes on and on… They are delicious either in smoothies or simply soaked in your tea.
With all those benefits, no wonder they have stood the test of time and earned the superfood title.
2. Raw hemp
Delicious on top of a salad or in a smoothie, raw hemp seeds or hearts are the bomb. They are packed with 33% digestible protein.
